Garden of Growing Minds started with me pursuing an elementary education degree, as I planned to become a teacher by the time my daughter started school. I love teaching, I love children, and being a teacher while staying close to my daughter was my end goal.
However, after stepping into public schools and experiencing the environment firsthand, I felt a shift in my heart that led me to create Garden of Growing Minds.
Public schools often follow a one-size-fits-all approach, where student success is measured heavily through standardized testing, while meaningful teaching and connection can sometimes take a back seat. As an aspiring educator, it was difficult to be part of a system that didn’t fully align with the way I believe children learn best.
As a mother, it also opened my eyes to the importance of a child’s environment—wanting them to feel safe, supported, and truly seen. And personally, I knew I couldn’t continue working toward something that didn’t fully reflect my values and beliefs.
I am a mother, an educator, and most importantly, a woman of faith. For a long time, I prayed and asked God to reveal my purpose as I approached the end of my college journey. Then one day, I received a vision for Garden of Growing Minds—and I knew this was what I was being called to build.
Garden of Growing Minds was created with intention, purpose, and a desire to make a lasting impact. It reflects everything I stand for: more time connecting with our children, learning without pressure, teaching in a way that truly reaches them, and creating a safe, nurturing environment.
Most importantly, it’s about planting the right seeds—seeds of knowledge, connection, and faith that will grow for a lifetime.
